FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Driving the Polaris Slingshot is way more fun than you’re going to believe. Florida state law requires drivers of slingshots to be at least 21 years old, however we require drivers to be 25 or older. However, we reserve the right to make case by case exceptions. Drivers must have a clean driving records (no major moving violations, DUI convictions, or similar infractions). All renters must be physically present at the start of the rental. Unfortunately, we do not allow 3rd parties to pick up vehicles and our employees must physically hand the keys over to the person who will be driving.

Additional drivers may be listed on your Rental Agreement at no additional charge. Each additional driver must be present at the time of delivery, must submit a driver’s license in advance, and will be subject to the same age, licensing, driving-record, and insurance  restrictions as the primary renter. 

Delivery/Pick Up

We charge a convenience fee of $50 for delivery and $50 convenience fee for pick ups.

Return Times

We will work with you on 2 day or 48 hour rentals as far as exact return time, but after we have determined your return appointment, you will be held accountable for that time. There will be a 20 Minute grace period with your scheduled return time, after which you may be subject to additional rental fees. 

All renters must leave a damage deposit in the form of a credit card authorization, cashier’s check, or cash. Any damage found on the vehicle upon return will be billed against this deposit. Cosmetic damages incur a $500 fee, A mechanical damage fee of $1000. The amount of this deposit will vary depending on the vehicle being rented and your type of insurance, but typically varies between $500 – $1,000 This deposit is fully refundable following the completion of the rental. If you are using an American Express card for the deposit, it is run as an “authorization only” (no actual charge). If you are using a Visa, Mastercard or Discover card, this deposit is run as a charge which is then reversed following the completion of the rental. 

When you make a reservation, we may authorize your credit card immediately for up to the full cost of the rental, though you will not be charged until you physically take possession of the vehicle. Because we have a limited supply of vehicles to offer, we pack the schedule very tightly. We offer a 24-hour grace period after you make your reservation to make changes or cancel (unless the rental is within 7 days), after which there will be a cancellation fee of 50% of the total rental cost or $250 (whichever is greater). If you cancel or reschedule less than 7 days before your rental (or are a no show at the time of rental), you will be charged a cancellation fee of 100% of the total rental cost. Please understand that there are NO exceptions to this cancelation policy. 

Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather. As per the cancelation policy above, we cannot offer refunds or rescheduling if the skies decide not to play nice. However, if there is a weather condition on a particular day that might make driving dangerous (i.e. snow, ice, hurricane, tornado, etc.) and you do not actually use your vehicle on that day, we may (at our discretion) offer you an extension on your rental or credit on a future rental. For example, if you rent a car Fri – Sun, it rains on Sun, if the car remains parked in your garage, you may be able to extend your rental through Monday for no additional charge. VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are the preferred method of payment for rental fees and damage deposits. In certain cases, cashier’s checks or cash may be accepted if pre-arranged. Personal & business checks are not accepted. 

A SunPass (in Florida) is included in each vehicle, so you can zip through tolls and focus on driving (and having fun!) without worrying about fumbling for change. All vehicles will come with a full tank of premium gasoline, and you must bring it back in the same way.
When you do fill up, all vehicles must be refuelled with Premium grade (93+ octane) gasoline. A $45.00 GAS SURCHARGE WILL BE APPLIED IF THE TANK IS NOT RETURNED FULL. Use of fuel other than the required fuel could result in engine damage. Should this happen there will be a fee of $75. *DO NOT USE E-85,87,89 Octane GASOLINE OR GASOLINE CONTAINING METHANOL*. Using E85 or gasoline/methanol blends can result in poor starting and drivability and may damage critical fuel system components. Renters will be assessed a $75 charge for the loss of the gas cap. Renters will be assessed a $250 charge for the loss of keys. Renters will be assessed a $20 charge for the loss of the Raincoats. Renters will be assessed a $100 charge per Riding Helmet in the case of loss, theft or damage. Renters will be assessed a $20 charge for the loss of the USB Charging Cables.

We do not offer refunds for vehicle rentals or gift certificates. However, our goal is total satisfaction for our renters, so in certain situations we may offer credit for additional rental days (i.e. weather, see above). This is solely at our discretion. In the event of an unforeseen mechanical failure during or prior to a rental, we will make every effort to repair or replace your vehicle with a similar or better model at no additional cost to you.

Discounts and special incentives cannot be combined or ‘stacked’ unless explicitly indicated.

Vehicles rented from our Miami location may not be driven outside the state of Florida without prior written approval.

Our rental vehicles may not be used:
By anyone not licensed to drive or whose Driver’s License has been suspended or restricted. For any illegal purpose or in connection with any illegal activity to carry persons or property for hire to push or tow anything of any kind. To exceed any posted speed limits In any speed test, speed contest, race, rally, speed endurance contest, demonstration, or on or near any racetrack or road course. Your insurance company will NOT cover the vehicle in any circumstance. In the event of a violation of these Prohibited Uses, we reserve the right to end your rental and retrieve the vehicle. When you drive a Polaris Slingshot, you’ll want to be the safest possible. Tire tread depth is measured. Burnouts will result in a $50 charge or the cost of a new tire if completely worn. DO NOT drive off road or in sand. This can severely damage the drive train of the Slingshot. Only navigate paved public roads. Always make sure the parking brake is completely off before pulling away and do NOT redline the engine. Absolutely no consumption of alcohol by the driver during your rental and No smoking in our Slingshots. GPS Tracking in use for theft and recovery proposes. No burnouts or rev limiting. All MPH/Rev Limiting (Burnouts) are monitored and recorded. Failure to comply will result in deposit being forfeited. Must remain on paved roads at all times. Off road use strictly prohibited.

The renter is responsible for all parking, traffic, speeding or other tickets or violations issued while the vehicle is being rented and must pay for any fees, penalties, towing charges, or impound costs.

All our rentals come with unlimited miles, just as long as you stay in the State.

All our vehicles are equipped with Tracking devices. If any of the tracking devices are tampered with, the vehicle will be recovered and you will forfeit any money paid including the entire deposit.

RENTER MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE WE WILL CHECK WITH DMV. RENTER MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. PLEASE FILL IT UP WITH GAS BEFORE RETURNING THE VEHICLE. A $45.00 GAS SURCHARGE WILL BE APPLIED IF NOT RETURNED WITH A FULL TANK. NO REFUNDS, BUT WE WOULD GLADLY RE-SCHEDULE THE RENTAL FOR YOU. ( SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY ON THE HOLIDAYS).
VALID CREDIT/DEBIT CARD MUST BE USED FOR RENTAL.
YOUR PICTURE WILL BE TAKEN UPON VEHICLE PICK UP.
